I graduated in 2018 with an Economy Degree and a specialization in Administration, Control and Profession. I started my journey with Giacomini a month before graduating, first as an intern, then as apprentice, and now I work as a quality controller. The skills I acquired in school enabled me to gradually integrate into a company of great prestige, and my growth path gave me the opportunity to gain the experience required to overcome the difficult phase between school and the work universe.
In Giacomini I found a company that enabled me to use and improve the foreign languages I studied in school, and by becoming part of the export sales team, I can interact daily with cultures and customs that are different from ours… this is something I consider quite stimulating!
Giacomini offered me a growth path in line with my skills and expectations. The opportunities I have been offered encourage me to always perform providing an added value.
Once I concluded my studies, I had the opportunity to work at Giacomini, a solid and secure company, becoming part of a harmonious work team where you can use your skills for the greater good.
For me, Giacomini stands first and foremost for "family": I always sensed so much humanity from a Group of international level which yet always pays great attention to every collaborator’s needs. I could work in a laid-back atmosphere, with a reduced work schedule and the support of Nidoscuola Giacomini when my two children were very young.
Being Lean is simply a matter of mentality, paired with action and strong dynamism, organization, and creativity, as well as persistence in engaging people, which you don’t have to convince but rather have believe in what we do!
But it is also an introspective vision.
You cannot aim at non-stop improvement if you are not ready to embrace this mentality through your actions.
You must think out of the box. It’s not easy but you can do it!
This is my 38th year at Giacomini, I started using Lean instruments in 2006, but it is thanks to my experience as a machine operator from 1984 to 1996, and as line manager till 2005, that I succeeded in becoming Lean, because Gemba is the best school ever (on the field).he greatest satisfaction is seeing in my colleagues (who are essential to achieve goals) the desire to participate and feel involved in the activity and project, and then experiencing their enthusiasm for the results obtained: teamwork is key! Always!
Giacomini enabled me to reconcile work with my private life, thanks to real welfare instruments: a part-time work contract, smart working e and the Nidoscuola for children aged 9 months to 5 years.
I come from Côte d'Ivoire where I had a job. One day I was on the bus on my way to visit a friend and when the local police officers stopped us to perform controls and ask for money, they realized I had a Mastercard and arrested me.
I ended up in Libya where I spent 10 months in jail and 2 working to earn the money I needed to leave.
The only route feasible was Italy and that’s why I am here! I worked in many places and then I had the opportunity to work for Giacomini, a company I looked at with interest from the outside.
During my interview, Emanuele Peraldi told me: “Moussa, there’s an opportunity here for you”.
I accepted the job, and the crazy thing is that after an hour I already felt great about finding much more than I could hope for. Here nobody ever discriminated me for the color of my skin, I only met great people.
Today, after two years, I live in one of the lodgings Giacomini puts at disposal of its employees, I have an open-ended work contract which makes me feel safe and enables me to pay for my mother’s medical expenses as well as provide for my daughter.
